Celerity Convergence

Welcome to the official website of the Celerity Convergence gaming marathon crew. It's a great cause that we have a passion for. So, if you can, check the right side of the page for more information about how you can donate to this awesome charity.

New Name, New Site, New Beginnings!

Hey, everyone. It's been a while since I updated here since things have been really busy for all of us. Once again, thank you all for your support and donations! You made this possible.

Some exciting news: We've merged with Nerd Fellowship! None of us are complete wizzes with site layout and the detailed technical aspects of website management. So, NF has graciously taken us under their wing and we'll be running under their banner now. Team CC will still be used as a subdivision of our marathon, but we'll be Nerd Fellowship from now on : )

That means most updates will come through their site. We are currently planning another marathon for soon after the new year, so check their site regularly for updates.

Thanks again everyone, you made all this possible. Hope to see and hear from you all again when host our next marathon.

Keep on gaming,
--Shannon Grippando

Team CC Meets Their Goal!

Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our goal of $500 in 29 and a half hours!
We appreciate all your support, but we assure you, the kids will appreciate it even more.

Rolling Restarts

This morning we experienced an internet crash. No biggie, only took us about 5 minutes and we were broadcasting once more. We noticed however that when we restart our computers, the video feed looked a lot better. Go figure. We decided then that for the duration of our marathon, we will be rolling 12 hour restarts. We will announce our restarts before we actually have them, but don't go anywhere! We will be back up for your broadcasting pleasure in just a few moments. Thanks viewers!

THE BOARD GAME

Welcome everyone! This is our first official blog of the weekend! As you can see, behind me Shannon is hard at work on Metroid Prime. On the bed next to him is a white board. We have implemented a system we like to call, THE BOARD GAME. The object of the game is to get you excited about donating money for kids! Sick kids! This is how it works:

The first person to donate $1, can put whatever phrase they desire on the white board.

The next person that wishes to replace that comment with their own, must donate $2.

The game goes on like this. So, if you would like to have us put YOUR comment on the white board, to be seen by all of our viewers, you must donate $1 more than the person before you.

That is how you play, THE BOARD GAME!

FAQS

Are you guys speed runners?
Nope. We're just a bunch of guys that like video games. And children.... but not like that.
By no means are we the fastest or best at any of these games that we're playing. But we do what we can.

Where are you guys from?
We're in Tampa, Fl and most of us go to the University of Tampa.

Why are you guys doing this?
Shannon watched a Zelda marathon by Cameron Banga who also raised money for Child's Play in January of 2008. He thought it looked like a fun way to raise money for a great cause, so he pitched the idea to his friends and here we are. Big props to Cameron for the awesome idea.
Basically we just want to help some kids out in a fun way. Screw Walk-A-Thons. Those are for sissies who just walk around all day. This takes dedication!

Do you guys plan on doing any other marathons for any other games?
Maybe. It depends on how this first one goes. We've talked about it and would be up for it.
